Ich möchte meine Faszination teilen. Die Betrachter mit Situationen und Menschen konfrontieren, denen sie selbst nie begegnet wären. Die Auswahl der Bilder ist dabei sehr schwierig, denn jedes Photo hat für mich eine Bedeutung.
Jeder Moment ist einzigartig.

I want to share my fascination and confront the viewers with situations and people they would never have met themselves. The selection of the pictures is very difficult because each photo has a meaning for me. Every moment is unique.

Im Alter von 14 Jahren habe ich an einem Photoworkshop teilgenommen. Mein Wunsch die Welt zu bereisen und diese mit der Kamera zu dokumentieren bestärkte sich in mir.

Die Magnum Photographen, eine Künstlergemeinschaft von freien Photographen, die keiner Agentur angehörten, waren eine starke Inspiratiosquelle. Sie hatten den Anspruch, Respekt und Verantwortungsgefühl gegenüber der Welt und den Menschen in Bildern zu vermitteln.
Auch ich möchte mit meinen Bildern nicht nur Schönes, Exotisches oder Tragisches festhalten, sondern eine Geschichte erzählen. Emotionen erwecken und Erinnerungen festhalten.

Eine Herausforderung ist es, trotz der Distanz, die die Arbeit mit einer Kamera mit sich bringt, in der Begegnung mit Menschen Nähe aufzubauen und dabei die Situation nach allen Regeln der Ästhetik und Fotokunst so natürlich und real wiederzugeben.

Seit vielen Jahren zieht es mich immer wieder nach Indien. Dort haben mich besonders die Frauen fasziniert – wie sie es schaffen in dieser überwiegend sehr repressiven Männergesellschaft ihr Leben zu meistern. Immer wieder bin ich erstaunt und verzaubert über ihre Anmut trotz ihrer oftmals äußerst widrigen Lebensumstände. Die vielfältigen Eindrücke, die ich während meiner zahlreichen Indienreisen gewonnen habe – sowie mein langjähriges Yoga Üben – haben Wahrnehmung und Blickwinkel für mein Umfeld gestärkt. Mich beim Fotografieren auf das Wesentliche zu konzentrieren, einen Fokus zu setzen, erlebe ich nach wie vor mit viel Leidenschaft.

At the age of 14 I took part in a photo workshop and the desire to travel the world and document it with the camera was confirmed.

The Magnum Photographers, a group of freelance photographers who did not belong to any agency, were a strong source of inspiration. They wanted to convey respect and a sense of responsibility towards the world in their pictures.

I also want to not only capture beautiful, exotic or tragic things with my pictures, but also tell a story. Awaken emotions and hold memories.

Despite the distance that working with a camera entails, it is a challenge to build up closeness to people and to reproduce the situation in a natural and real way using all the rules of aesthetics and photo art.

I have been drawn to India for many years. There I was particularly fascinated by women – how they manage to master their lives in this predominantly very repressive male society. Again and again I am amazed and enchanted by their grace, despite their often extremely adverse living conditions. The diverse impressions that I gained during my numerous trips to India, as well as my many years of practicing yoga, have strengthened my perception and perspective for my environment. Concentrating on the essentials while taking photos, and still having a focus, I experience with a lot of passion.
